Tim Shininger is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Wisconsin.  He received his Master of Guidance and Counseling and a Master of Applied Human Ecology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio in 1993.  He completed post-graduate studies in marriage and family therapy at the Family Therapy Training Institute of Milwaukee in 1995.  He is the Clinic Director and Owner of Comprehensive Counseling Services, LLC in Port Washington, WI.

   
In addition to his clinical experience, Mr. Shininger has several years of administrative experience.  Prior to operating Comprehensive Counseling Services, Tim served as Director of Outpatient Behavioral Medicine Clinical Services at Columbia St. Mary's, Inc., a multi-hospital healthcare system in Southeastern Wisconsin.  He is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy.  He is one of only a few mental health professionals in Wisconsin listed on www.catholictherapist.com.

Mr. Shininger provides psychotherapy treatment for children, adolescents and adults with a focus on marriage and family issues.  He also specializes in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder as well as helping individuals with parenting issues, grief/loss, and marital communication/conflict.  Tim uses primarily cognitive behavioral and systemic approaches in treatment.  He has a special interest in studying the integration of principles of the Catholic faith into the science of psychology.   He also offers telephone consultation services.

Tim and his wife have five children.  His personal interests include active involvement in his parish, playing guitar and singing and doing home-improvement projects.
